Technology

Performance

Powertrain options are endless with the C-Class. The base C 300, for example, is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged 4 cylinder that delivers 241 horsepower. The C 300 is available in RWD or AWD configurations, and it' s built for spirited driving, jetting 0 to 60 mph in roughly 6 seconds. The AMG C 43 gets a power boost, from its 362-horsepower V-6, which shaves more than a second off its 0 to 60 mph time. Finally, the top-of-the-line AMG C 63 and C 63 S offer plenty of power from a 4.0L V-8: 469 or 503 horsepower, depending on the tune. 4MATIC AWD is available on all models, which increases traction, and the available AIRMATIC suspension delivers improved suspension for a quiet, smooth ride.

Safety

Mercedes-Benz' record of safety innovation continues with the C-Class. Named an IIHS Top Safety Pick for the model year, the C-Class is protected by a suite of innovative safety technologies. They include:

• Collision Prevention Assist Plus: The standard suite monitors the roadway for possible collisions, alerting the driver and automatically engaging the brakes to avoid collisions.
• Driver Alert System: The Attention Assist system uses facial recognition technology to monitor the driver, sending audio and visual alerts to ensure the driver stays active.
• Pre-Safe: Pre-Safe prepares the vehicle for potential collisions, including tightening the seatbelts.
